The major steps in the life of the organisation

  • 1905 Léon Guilbert sets up a business specialising in soldering equipment and petrol lamps in the 11th arrondissement in Paris.
  • 1910 He incorporates the manufacture of his products using the Express brand.
  • 1927 Guilbert Express launches the first electric soldering irons.
  • 1932 Guilbert Express starts marketing equipment which operates using butane/propane, and which is destined to experience considerable growth after the Second World War.
  • 1950 At the beginning of the 1950s and with increasing demand from the general public, after a careful assessment of consumers’ needs, Guilbert Express bring out a new range of modified blowlamps and soldering irons.
  • 1972 Revolution in the plumbing sector with the appearance of the "Cercoflam Express".
  • 1992 Guilbert Express is asked to design and make the torch for the Olympic flame for the Albertville Winter Olympics. 150 copies are made which truly resemble works of art.
  • 2002 Version 2000 certification to ISO 9001.
  • 2005 Guilbert Express is 100 years old.
  • 2008 The Express brand is the French benchmark for heating tools for building trades professionals and, at the very centre of the Sahara, celebrates with customers the 5 millionth Express blowlamp sold.
  • 2009 Version 2008 ISO Certification.
